This project explored two residential apartment building prototypes that interpret vernacular Saudi architecture within a modern context. Rooted in the enhanced Salmani Code, both prototypes explored how traditional architectural principles can be reimagined to serve contemporary multi-family living. The first, defined by horizontality, emphasizes spatial continuity and linear relationships inspired by Najdi traditions, while the second, centered on verticality, expresses a more volumetric composition that conveys rhythm and permanence. Through variations in massing, proportion, and ornamentation, a coherent design language that bridges heritage and modernity, is established offering a framework for future developments that celebrate local identity while meeting the functional and aesthetic demands of modern urban life.
